After rounding Cape Horn we sailed in gale force winds, and when we arrived at the Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), the winds were still too strong to go ashore. The anchorage was a 20 minute boat ride to the jetty in Stanley. Many bird watchers were disappointed because there are five species of penguins, and numerous other birds inhabiting the islands – a photographer’s dream.
Thus, we had four more days of bridge lessons and duplicate games to while the time. There were spectacular shows on board, and, not to mention, all the wonderful dining experiences.
